Frequently Asked Questions
The main difference lies in the composition of the sock, which contains 80% Tencel. Tencel is a sustainable fabric made from cellulose fibers derived from wood pulp, primarily sourced from eucalyptus trees. It is known for its softness, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. Tencel is produced using an environmentally friendly closed-loop process, where solvents are reused, minimizing waste and water consumption. The production of Tencel involves using non-toxic chemicals, making it a more eco-friendly alternative to conventional fabrics. Its versatility and eco-conscious production methods have positioned Tencel as a desirable material in the fashion and textile industries. Read more about Tencel here.
All our different models have the following composition: 80% Tencel, 17% polyamide, 3% elastane. This ensures that our socks are as smooth and as soft as silk while being elastic enough for great sock comfort. Our factory’s Tencel supplier is Lenzing, based in Austria.
All our socks are machine washable. You can wash them up to 40°C maximum (normal cycle) and dry them (if wished) at medium heat. Your socks might shrink a little bit if you use a dryer (up to 10% maximum).
The sneaker socks arrive at ankle height, the winter socks around the middle of your calf. The invisible socks cannot be seen when you wear a shoe.
The main difference lies in the height and slightly in the width of the socks. Men’s socks are a little wider and higher than women’s socks.
We opted for the most-used everyday sock colours which are black and white: the winter socks are black and the unisex socks are white. Other colours might be added later on throughout the campaign if this one turns out to be successful. We count on you!
The available sizes for unisex socks are: 36-38, 39-42, 43-46, ror men socks: 39-42, 43-46 and for women socks: 36-38, 39-42
Yes and no. Let us explain!
All socks, no matter the brand or quality, will eventually wear out – that’s just the nature of things. However, the lifespan of your socks depends on several key factors:
- Quality of the materials: TINJA socks are crafted using premium, high-end fabrics designed to last significantly longer than cheaper alternatives you will find at budget stores. Our materials are chosen not just for comfort, but for their exceptional durability too.
- Manufacturing and reinforcement: unlike many lower-priced options, TINJA socks are specifically reinforced at the toes and heels – the areas most prone to wear and tear. Many cheaper socks skip this crucial step, which is why holes appear so quickly. We ensure these high-friction zones are built to withstand daily use longer.
- Your walking style: everyone walks differently, with varying pressure points on their feet. Whether you place more weight on your heels or have an asymmetric foot shape, our socks are designed to offer a longer lifespan compared to standard socks, even with personalised wear patterns.
- Frequency of use: naturally, how often you wear your TINJA socks will influence their durability. Wearing them every day for demanding activities like running or work may result in faster wear, but even in heavy use, they’ll still last far longer than most other alternatives.
Thanks to the superior materials we use, TINJA socks are built to outlast and outperform your average budget socks. Our fibers are structured to enhance durability, ensuring you get more wear and comfort over time.
At TINJA, we prioritise quality and comfort without sacrificing affordability. You deserve better than the short-lived, lower-grade and synthetic socks you might find in (discount) stores.
Yes, but here’s a key tip: you will experience the best results when pairing TINJA socks with shoes made from natural materials (like leather), compared to synthetic ones (like polyester). Synthetic shoes can create a less optimal environment for any sock, but even then, TINJA socks will still outperform lower-quality options, like cotton socks, regardless of the type of shoe. Simply put, TINJA socks will deliver a superior experience in any footwear, but for maximum comfort and performance, we recommend pairing them with higher-quality, natural-origin shoes.
